NFL 2010 Predictions: San Francisco 49ers
NFL 2010 Predictions: San Francisco 49ers
The Arizona Cardinals
were the team to beat in the NFC West the past two seasons, but that could change this year. With the future Hall of Fame quart Kurt Warner has decided to hang up, the NFL made lines that give the 49ers the edge of San Francisco in the division race, considered the favorite to win the division -110. If the odds makers are right, the 49ers will punch their ticket to the playoffs for the first time since 2002.
Offense: The offense struggled in 2009, scoring only 20.6 points per game (18 in the NFL). The 49ers finished 25th in rushing offense (100.0 yards per game) and 22 passing offense (190.8 yards per game). It was extremely difficult for the offense to keep the units with their poor 29.8 percent third down conversion rate. The biggest problem has been mediocre at best offensive line. Joe Staley and Eric Heitmann good performance, but the Niners knew they needed to add more talent up front. So I drafted tackle Anthony Davis and Mike IUPAT basis in the first round. These two elements must be able to intervene immediately. Years 49 had a misfortune with Heitmann broke his left fibula, but hope to see him in Week 2. If the line can show an improvement, Frank Gore could be ready for a monster year. Gore ran for 1.120 yards and 10 results in 2009 and added 52 receptions for 406 yards and three touchdowns more. The incorporation of the former Eagles Brian Westbrook large should help keep Gore fresh. The 49ers are a team first race, but have the potential to make big plays through the air with tight end Vernon Davis and receiver Michael Crabtree. Davis is coming off a career year, catching 78 balls for 965 yards and 13 touchdowns. After excluding Crabtree was over, he wasted no time putting a large number, making 48 passes for 625 yards in only 11 games. It is the whole process, but it seems that Alex Smith is finally ready to be a starter in the NFL. After entering the season last role, threw for 2.350 yards and 18 touchdowns with 12 interceptions. If he does the kind of progress expected Niners, the former chief Texans David Carr is likely to receive the call. Defense: head coach Mike Singletary and defensive coordinator Greg Manusky have teamed up to put a solid defense on the field. This unit held opponents to just 17.9 points per game in 2009 (14 in the NFL). Big thank you to nose in front Aubrayo Franklin and linebacker Patrick Willis 49 years studies have been one of the best threads joke in the game, holding opponents to just 97.0 yards per game on the field (6 º in the NFL). This unit has also been very opportunistic in 2009. Its turnover forced 33 tied for fifth best in the NFL and its 18 fumble recoveries tied for first place. Although no defensive player has recorded more than 6.5 sacks, the 49ers tied for third in the NFL with 44 sacks. Defensive end Justin Smith, who has 13 sacks in two seasons with the Niners, bring the heat consistently. If the 49 can improve their pass defense ranked 21st, which may actually be an elite unit. To do this, need a rebound season Nate Clemens. Prediction: first NFC West – Unless Matt Leinart completely surprised with an excellent season, I think the 49ers win the West, punching their ticket to the playoffs for the first time in nearly a decade.
